Chalmers Neighborhood Renewal Corporation is the umbrella organization under which the EEKALC (Elmwood East Kildonan Active Living Center) lives. All Local Colour Art Group members also pay for membership to EEKALC and have proudly supported local events through our raffles where artists donate paintings. Hope to see you there!!

Afro-Caribbean Cultural Day
The Afro-Caribbean Association of Manitoba is hosting a Cultural Day on Saturday, March 28th from 1:00-3:00 PM at 259 Watt St.
This year’s theme is Afro-Caribbean music, with live performances including reggae, spiritual dance, negro spiritual and afrobeat, and more! Refreshments will be served.

The Chalmers Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (CNRC) is presenting The 7 Grandfather Teachings: A Path to Balance at 180 Poplar Ave on Monday, March 23rd, 2026 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. What are the 7 Grandfather Teachings? What is a smudge and what does it do? How to use a medicine wheel to help balance your life? Knowledge keeper Rey Anderson will be presenting an opportunity to learn and connect through traditional Indigenous wisdom. Learn to Curl at Elmwood Curling Club
Always wanted to learn how to play, but never had the chance? The Elmwood Curling Club is hosting a free afternoon of curling on Sunday, March 22nd, 2026 at 12:30pm. All you need to bring is a clean pair of indoor runners. Sliders and brooms will be supplied to those that don’t have any.
