Dear neighbours, it has been a challenging 24 hours in our city, with a staggering amount of rainfall and tornado-strength winds. I hope you and your loved ones are safe, and I know that many of us are now dealing with water in our basements, hail damage and other difficult situations as a result. At times like this, sometimes the best thing we can do is lean on each other, so please be sure to reach out to any neighbours you know who might need a hand or simply a listening ear. We’re all in this together.
A big thank you to our City crews who are out there working hard to clean up debris, clear drainage blockages, attend to downed trees, and repair malfunctioning traffic signals as quickly as possible. Please continue to report any issues you are seeing to 311 – as call volumes are high, it will be faster to report online.
Another big thank you to all our brave first responders who were there for us as they responded to extremely high volumes of calls overnight, including hundreds related to downed power lines, stranded vehicles and fires.
